In all of our prior blogs, we identified the risks from apps, devices, websites, governments, corporations and more but what is it that each of us as individuals can do to better protect ourselves? But what do we mean by cyber safety and what are the measurable outcomes of cyber safety actions. As in the enterprise, the goal of cyber safety is risk reduction. And how exactly do we do THAT? Simple, by raising the cost of attack i.e. you need to make it more expensive to attack your home than it was yesterday. Put another way, it is a variant of saying, in order to escape the bear you only need to run faster than the slowest person. Increasing the cost of attack involves three critical components - tools, people and process. In this blog, we specifically address the 'people' part of this equation.
